So we can almost smell the end of the season, 14 games gone and 7 to go, with a slight switch in order we have almost completed 2 full rounds of games and the league tables are looking great for some and bleak for others.
In the premier league St Johns recorded a massive victory on Sunday over perenial champions AFC to now hold a 5pt gap at the top, the super J's wont be cracking open the champagne yet, with 21pts still to play for they will be aware of the collapse of 2 seasons ago when they led at this point, one team hoping for a turn around in form is Arrows, now 6pts adrift of survival every game is vital if they are to maintain a premier league place, Hermans have picked up 4 pts out the last 9 and hope that recent additions to the team will help them pick up the 4pts they are currently adrift, we'll know more in the coming weeks.
Division 1 has changed from a four horse race of week 7 to maybe just the 3 now, Hangover currently lead by one point but they will be aware that 2nd placed Exiles have a game in hand and its against the unusually out of form Saints, CBC are only 3 pts behind in theyre hope of bouncing straight back to the prem but some recent poor form has seen Mag 7 drop 5pts back, Allstars and Robins sit 6 points adrift at the bottom and neither team seem to be able to string anything together, both teams have suffered dramatically this year and unless a major change in fortunes occurs they will be playing Div 2 football next season.
Dreamteam are possibly the closest team in all 4 divisions to securing something positive next season, a massive 14pts clear of third place and 7pts clear of 2nd, only a catastrophy will stop them playing in Div 1 next term, we are unsure whilst going to press whether Rions Boys are staying in Div 2 but if they are then its only a matter of time before relegation to Div 3 is confirmed, 9pts behind 6th & 7th only a few more points for either Cricketers and Aardvark will confirm theyre relegation, who will join them will probably come down to the games between Aardvark and the Cricketers.
Unbeaten since week 1 the Strollers are another team looking forward to next season, 7pts clear of 2nd and 11pts clear of 3rd only some really bad results or some over confidence could cost them now
who joins them could go to the wire, Eagles it pretty but inform Mayo are close and if Kebab win the game in hand then they are 4pts behind with Eagles still to play.
Bloody good this football lark eh!
